Two slopes.
One valley to explore at your own pace.
Two mountain huts,
one vision.
On either side of the Valchiavenna valley, I have restored two mountain huts that embody two different ways of experiencing the mountains.
Different in character, yet united by the same concept of hospitality: authentic, attentive and deeply rooted in the local area.
This project stems from a desire to offer not just a place to stay, but a place to slow down, breathe and rediscover the pleasure of simple things.
It is dedicated to those who feel the need to reclaim their own time, to those who seek experiences to remember, rather than simply places to visit.
Baita Croz
654 M | VALCHIAVENNA |
In the heart of an Alpine village with no roads, where you can only walk along stone paths. A simple, unpretentious and deeply authentic place, yet with a house equipped with every modern comfort. The perfect combination for those seeking peace, beauty and the warm embrace of wood and the mountains.
Baita Croz has been designed for those who feel the need to get away from it all.
Entirely clad in wood, the chalet combines the authentic charm of Alpine architecture with modern comforts. The panoramic terrace, the pellet stove and the bathroom with a whirlpool bath and chromotherapy offer moments of genuine well-being. Outside, in Lottano: a mountain nativity scene suspended in time, where the silence, the stone and the narrow streets tell the story of a place that has remained true to its soul.

Baita Est
700 M | VALCHIAVENNA |
Baita dell’Est is situated near Possabella, in Valchiavenna, in a secluded spot completely surrounded by nature. Just 5 km from Chiavenna, 50 km from St. Moritz and 40 km from Lake Como, it offers a rare balance between absolute privacy and ease of travel. The complete absence of other homes in the immediate vicinity guarantees peace and privacy, making it the ideal choice for those wishing to experience the mountains far from the noise and hustle and bustle. Situated at an altitude of 700 metres, on the edge of Val Bregaglia and Valle Spluga, it is surrounded by hiking trails and cycle routes. It is the perfect base from which to explore Valchiavenna or simply to treat yourself to a few days of relaxation surrounded by nature.

The chalet, measuring approximately 60 m², is spread over two floors. On the upper floor are the living area with an open-plan kitchen, the lounge and the panoramic terrace overlooking the valley. On the lower floor are two bedrooms – one with a double bed and one with bunk beds – as well as the bathroom. Outside, a private garden filled with flowers and fruit trees features a heated hot tub for two people, a sun terrace and a relaxation area surrounded by nature.

- 2 bedrooms: 1 with a double bed, 1 with bunk beds
- Parking available
- Fully equipped private garden
- Private outdoor hot tub: available all year round (max. 2 people)

Services and informations
You reach the chalet by travelling the final 3 km along a single-lane mountain road, which is tarmacked but quite steep. In winter, if there is snow, the road may be snow-covered, making it difficult to drive right up to the chalet, with the risk of having to walk the final stretch.

In the surrounding
Mountain huts are the ideal starting point for exploring Val Chiavenna and its surroundings: stone villages, waterfalls, Lake Como and Switzerland – all within easy reach on a short trip. Here are four destinations not to be missed.

Chiavenna and the Crotti
The historic village, just 15 minutes away, with its cobbled streets and famous ‘crotti’: ancient natural caves converted into taverns, where you can sample bresaola, pizzoccheri and wines from the valley, served at a constant temperature all year round.

Acquafraggia Waterfalls
A spectacular waterfall just a few minutes’ drive away, even mentioned by Leonardo da Vinci. A scenic footpath winds its way up to the base of the falls: a short walk suitable for everyone, with views that are well worth the effort at every bend.

Lake Novate and Pian di Spagna
Just a few minutes’ walk from the mountain huts lies a tranquil alpine lake and the nature reserve that links it to the upper Lake Como: reed beds, meadows and gentle footpaths – a paradise for walking, cycling and birdwatching. A peaceful haven away from the crowds, with the Alps as a backdrop.

St. Moritz and the Engadine
Glamorous Switzerland just 50 minutes away: Alpine lakes, high-altitude trails and, in winter, the most famous slopes in the Alps. The border is just a stone’s throw away, making it perfect for a trip across the mountain pass.

Lake Como
Just 40 minutes from your holiday home, Lake Como welcomes you with its historic villas, villages overlooking the water and views that have inspired artists throughout the ages.
The Host
Hello, I’m Nicola. The mountains are my home and hospitality has been my profession for over twenty years. After an international career, I chose to return to my roots to restore two mountain huts and create places where guests can enjoy an authentic experience, characterised by tranquillity, nature and attention to detail. My aim is to make you feel at home from the very first moment and to help you discover Valchiavenna through the eyes of someone who lives there every day.
